What led you to do the work you do?  Seeing small and medium-sized business owners struggle to grow their businesses beyond a certain revenue level due to a lack of planning and effective marketing skills.

Describe your ideal client:  A business that has grown organically to a certain level and now wants to expand into new customers, markets and financial opportunities.  Typically one to five million in current revenue.  Specializing in technology, software, manufacturing and professional services.

What situation or circumstances might lead a prospective client to your services? They are experiencing slow growth in product/services, customers and markets they need to develop new products for a new market, marketing and sales programs and people are not delivering the expected or desired results.

What’s the best way for colleagues to refer prospective clients to you?  Ask or notice that the company is not meeting its revneues and profit goals, is seeking new customers or marketing opportunities; needs a stronger marketing presence.

How does a typical engagement begin? With a conversation with a the owner and/or executive team to learn about the business goals, challenges, successes and struggles. Answering the question where do we go from here?

What services might a typical engagement include?  Assessment, discovery, planning and execution.

What might you be doing if you hadn’t pursued this career?  Writing mystery novels.

What about your work gives you greatest satisfaction?  Seeing my clients achieve their business goals and feel confident in the direction their business is taking. Knowing they have a plan for today and the future.  Seeing their business expand with new customers and new employees.

What might your colleagues be surprised to learn about you?  I have taken two dogs (Shetland Sheepdogs) to the Master’s level in competitive dog agility.

What do you enjoy doing most when you’re not serving your clients?  Cooking and entertaining, gardening and bird watching.
